Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is a British-American sitarist and musician. She's the smallest woman and was the first person to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a emerging star on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the student of Ravi Shankar and is also his daughter. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career bouncing between London and New Delhi. Her debut performance was at New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha, who is only 17 years old, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She frequently joins her father during performances, something she's been doing for a number of years. In 1998, she debuted her debut single album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. She has appeared at many major venues around the globe. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi the Love of My Live, a biography of a picture that was written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In addition, she acted in a the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. The role she played was that of as a Bharat Nayam dancer on Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and there will be many more things to come from this talented woman. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her early years in London, Delhi and California. When she was nine years old, she began studying music under her father. She made her debut on the sitar four years later at his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka has gained lots of experience by touring across the globe together with her father. She appeared at Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. It is the House of Commons Shield was presented to her by the British Parliament in recognition of being the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and is the smallest recipient of the award.
